I’ve been working on putting the 12 Foundation Stones Course online as a course that students can go through. The purpose of this study course is to give the students a practical and balanced perspective of fundamental Christian principles for everyday living, thus motivating those who take the course to apply these principles, and through this to become leaders in their communities.
Our mission base here in Port Harcourt has been teaching the 12 Foundation Stones Course since 2004. The course runs for about 6 months, if the classes are attended on a weekly basis.
In 2009, we switched it up to a correspondence course sent regularly via email. Some people wanted one a week, some wanted two, and some wanted three. They were shorter segments. And we were able to teach the classes to people who were not able to come to for classes in person.
I’ve been thinking of putting it online as a complete course, since 2018. But life got in the way (three young active boys that I’m homeschooling take up a lot more time than you think).
2020 hit and all the confusion that came with it. Again, with most of the world under lockdown, I thought this might be a good time to get in the game. Something or another held me back.
Now it’s 2023, and everything seems to be falling into place to make it happen. Someone gave a donation towards the initial running of the course. Someone else suggested teachable.com to host it initially until I learn other programs. Others offered to help take my boys for at least an hour a day, so I can spend some time working on it. Etc, etc, etc.
For now, it’s hosted here: 12foundationstonescourse.teachable.com
I hope to be able to develop it into a fuller course with more participation, questions to be asked (whether on a forum or someone suggested a Facebook group), quizzes and tests, and possibly even a certificate of completion at the end of it (like we used to do).
I don’t know where the Lord will take this project, but for now, I feel the need to get the Word out there into as many hands as possible. So it’s free of charge! Until it isn’t… Again, this is all individually supported and if the Lord impresses on you to help with a contribution towards it, please contact me.
