This blog is reader-supported, for the most part. As an Amazon Associate, I earn a small commission from qualifying purchases at no cost to you. I only endorse things that I use personally or come highly recommended by someone I implicitly trust, like Jocko.
I like how the publishers who republished Guidelines for the Leader and Commander changed the back of the book to say “Featured on the Jocko Podcast.” Hey, if the guy has a couple of million followers on social media, it’s a safe bet to have a few of those people buy the book, especially if it’s indicated that this is the very one. Innovate and adapt. Good ol’ Stackpole Publishing, eh?
It’s also funny how I never even saw that until I was finished my preliminary reading…
With books, I usually look at the cover, read the back cover, read the first few pages, if I’m still interested I’ll read the middle few pages, and then the end, before I decide if I want to read it through. Unconventional, I suppose, but in this way, I save a lot of time not reading books that don’t even keep my attention.
